So I read this link today, on Cracked.com.  It was called "6 Harsh Truths that will make you a better person."  and like I said on FB, minus the curse words, it was surprisingly truthful. (And really funny. I love funny.) Reducing the long article to a Twitter feed display, basically the article said, "You need a useful skill to be successful in life so get off the couch and be engaged."

Blah, Blah, Blah, and so many words later, I am truly inspired.  Well, that article and seeing "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" today, there is nothing like New Year's Day to start off some resolutions.  ( I tried to convince my family that we needed to talk kindly to each other, but I don't want to repeat what they said in response.)

So here are my thoughts:

1.) I could start a blog.  However, the problem with that is, does anyone really want me to blather on about life? My kids are not inspired by me,  "Someone give mom a book, or she's going to sit here reading me stuff she finds on the internet."  I love you, too, dearest oldest child.

2.) I could teach myself Spanish (again).  This one is two-fold.  a.) I live in Florida so it's a useful skill.   and b.) I already have a head start having had 3 years in high school.

or

3.) I could teach myself to code.  Computers.  Apparently there is this website, Code.org, that teaches children between the ages of 6-10, how to code.  (I'm thinking that this is probably my mental computer age anyway.) and that's a useful skill, right?

Well I've just out thought myself for the day.  And I'm feeling the mental strain.  Time to wrap it up for the night.

  1. Hi Lora! I looked up your blog after seeing your awesome post in support of Amanda Kyle Williams on Jungle Reds. I love your writing style and sense of humor. :) Are you going to continue the blog? I hope you decide to "blather on about about life"! Also, are you on Twitter?
